It was so hot in the forest at Koitiata that quite a few people took the sensible decision to walk their courses. Not in the elite classes though, where our competitors turned in exciting performances regardless. The arena gave a great view of finishers coming in threading their way through a maze of bracken and patches of blackberry, and then a final dash down the chute.

Sprint winner Joseph Lynch and Zefa Fa’avae battled it out for the top spot in M21E, with Zefa coming in just 3 seconds ahead, and South Australia’s Leith Soden in 3rd.
In W21E the order at the top was exactly the same as the sprint, but the times were much closer. Lizzie Ingham kept the top spot with a scant 4 second margin over Hanne Hilo, PAPO’s Kaia Jorgensen was less than a minute behind the top two.
Find out how everyone got on. Note that these are the complete results, so they include all competitors including international competitors who are not eligible for Oceania awards.
Official results for yesterday’s sprint are also available now, as above these are complete results.
