All Oceania events use the SportIdent AIR+ contactless punching system. With this, your SPORTident ActiveCard (SIAC) records a punch when you bring it within about 50cm of the control station rather than having to “dib” it in the hole on top.
We thought you might like to know that our sponsor Trailblaze are launching their authorised SIAC Battery Replacement service at Oceania. SIAC batteries usually last 3-5 years depending on how much orienteering you do at SI AIR+ events. When the battery finally runs out you won’t be able to use contactless punching until it is replaced.
If you’re worried about your SIAC battery health, visit the Trailblaze tent to check your battery voltage. If you need a replacement, drop your SIAC off before the end of the day and they will have it ready for collection at the event the following morning.
If you need more information about this service, drop Trailblaze a line or ask them at any of the Oceania events.
